Matthew 4: 19-20
And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
Reflection
The disciples didn’t add Jesus to their existing lives. They immediately left their nets. They left everything behind. Their livelihood. Their security. Their routine. Everything. They didn’t ask for a timeline. They didn’t negotiate terms. They had no back-up plan.
When Jesus called, they surrendered everything.
Following Jesus still requires that kind of response…And even though it may cost you something, and the journey won’t always be easy, there is no greater life than the one found in fully following Him.
If Jesus is calling you higher, will you trust Him enough to follow? What might you need to let go of in order to fully follow Him?
Let's Pray Together
Lord Jesus, Thank You for calling me higher.
Help me to trust You enough to step beyond what feels comfortable, and to let go of anything that keeps me from following You completely.
